Galaxy S9 Specs And Features Revealed In New Report, First Unveil Likely At CES 2018

Now that the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and of course the iPhone X have all been released, attention has already turned to what the next big thing will be. That might just be Samsung’s new flagships, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, with both getting their debut a little earlier than normal if a new report is accurate.
According to this report, Samsung will unveil its new phones a little earlier than normal, with an outing at January’s Consumer Electronics Show 2018 on the cards.

Despite the earlier debut, Samsung’s new phones will apparently still not be officially announced until March, just as the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ experienced this year. The launch window is likely to remain the same as the phones’ predecessors, and according to report, that is not all that will be familiar when the phones go on sale.
Those hoping for a big refresh of the lineup in 2018 look set to be disappointed, with report claiming that Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will look very similar to the existing models, even carrying the same 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch curved-edge Super AMOLED “Infinity” displays. Where things start to get interesting is the way the two versions of the same phone will be differentiated.
In 2017, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ were the same phone bar the size of the display but that will not be the case in 2018. According to the report, the larger of the two devices will also include more memory – 6GB up from the 4GB of the smaller device – and a second rear camera. Both will however keep the microphone jack, and 64GB of storage will be the norm, too.

Speaking of cameras, the rear of the new devices will see the cameras (like on iPhone X) and fingerprint sensors be re-arranged into a vertical setup, making the latter much more accessible for those who complained that they struggled to reach the sensor on existing Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ device. Both new models will also include stereo AKG speakers, according to the report.
